A POPULAR choir from Knutsford will be singing in the town again this Christmas.

The Tatton Singers, under its musical director John Powell, is holding its popular Christmas concert at St John’s Parish Church, Knutsford, on Saturday at 7.30pm.

It has been a tradition with the Tatton Singers to invite a local school to join them for their Christmas concert.

This year Yorston Lodge School choir, under its musical director Rebecca Taylor, are to join them in the performance.

The organist will be Andrew Dean.

A varied and popular programme of lively and Christmas carols is planned with plenty of opportunities for audience participation during the evenings performance.

The Tatton Singers has recently completed a major concert at the Royal Northern College of Music, Manchester, and continues with a very busy Christmas programme.

It will be singing twice at Tatton Hall, followed by carols at East Cheshire Hospice and Christie Hospital in Manchester.

Tony Wood, from the singers, said: “Please come and join the Tatton Singers on Saturday.

“This concert is always considered to be a great start to the Christmas festivities, plus the usual mince pie and a glass of wine or a soft drink during the interval.”
