CHESHIRE East Council has set up a new company to make sure Tatton Park’s visitors are fed and watered.

At a cabinet meeting in October, the authority set up Tatton Park Enterprises Ltd.

The council told the Guardian the company was set up to take over the catering contract from the current firm, which is set to end shortly.

Clr Jamie Macrae, cabinet member in charge of prosperity and economic regeneration, said: “Tatton Park Enterprises Ltd is a company set up and owned by Cheshire East Council, which will deliver catering facilities at Tatton Park following the end of the catering contract with Tribourne Ltd.

“It will give us more flexibility in delivering catering options and sourcing local produce and enable us to expand the catering offer for customers.”

At the meeting in October it was decided that Clr Jamie Macrae, Clr Peter Raynes, John Nicholson, the strategic director of places and organisational capacity, and Brendan Flanagan, the Tatton Park visitor and economy manager would all be made directors of the company and that Caroline Elwood, borough solicitor and monitoring officer, would be company secretary.
