A CHOIR that featured in the BBC 2 television series ‘The Choir: Sing while you work’ is getting together to sing at a special performance at The Mere Golf Resort and Spa this weekend.

The Manchester Airport choir, which was specially recruited and trained by Gareth Malone OBE for the recent BBC 2 series, is giving a special charity performance at the resort on Sunday, December 9.

It will raise money for the Medcare charity which works to ensure health equalities for sick, vulnerable, deprived children in the developing world.

Rev George Lane, Manchester Airport’s Chaplain and the chair of the workplace choir, said: "Since the series aired, we have been overwhelmed by the public response.

"Christmas gives us a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the revival of singing and choirs, whilst showcasing the hard work of the choir’s singers at a local festive celebration.

"We are thrilled to have been invited to perform at The Mere and be able to raise funds for this very worthwhile charity."

The Mere is inviting residents and anyone who happens to be in the area to come along and enjoy the performance which will take place between 12pm and 12.30.

Mark Boler, founder and co-owner of The Mere Golf Resort and Spa, added: "We’re thrilled to welcome the Manchester Airport Choir to our resort and we hope our visitors and guests will enjoy the performance and that we can help raise money for a charity that provides invaluable support to parents in our region."
