A GAS leak in Mobberley Road was fixed on Friday following more than three weeks of disruption for residents.
Specialist engineers working for National Grid have repaired a metal pipe from which gas was escaping.
A spokesman for National Grid said: “The excavation will be filled in and the surface restored, and we should be off site by this Friday.
“We apologise for any inconvenience caused, but our work to repair the escape was essential to protect public safety.”
The work saw the pavement cut and grass verge dug up to expose the pipe network and a walkway was created on the road for pedestrians.
