KNUTSFORD shoppers donated a generous 390kg of food to the Mid Cheshire Foodbank to help feed local people facing food crisis.
An enthusiastic group of volunteers gave their time on Saturday and Sunday for the collection at the Waitrose supermarket on Princess Street, which proved to be a great success.
Volunteer Maureen Lewis said: “The Waitrose customers showed a great deal of interest in the work of the foodbank, and were very generous indeed in their donations.
“A few customers asked if there were any specific food items which the foodbank particularly needed, which I felt was very thoughtful.
“Overall it was a wonderful response to our request for help.”
