A PRESCRIPTION delivery service has opened up a new base in Knutsford to fill one of the town’s empty units.

Following the success of its prescription collection and delivery service, husband and wife team Lee and Caroline Williams have expanded The Prescription Service with an extended hours pharmacy and new healthcare shop in a larger premises on Tatton Street.

The shop space, leased by Monckton Properties Ltd – part of the Tatton Estate – has undergone a refit and opened on November 12.

Lee and Caroline have been practising pharmacists since 2005 and set up a prescription delivery service in February 2011.

Caroline said: “We started out delivering prescriptions to support local GP surgeries, taking medicine to patients who struggled to get into town. However, it became apparent there wasn’t a local out-of-hours service, and this is where we had the idea to open the shop.”

The Prescription Service shop will be open from 7am to 10pm, Monday to Saturday and 9am to 7pm on a Sunday. The business will also continue with the delivery of prescriptions to support GPs in and around Knutsford covering a radius that stretches as far as Alderley Edge.
