JIMI Hendrix storms Knutsford from beyond the grave.

Gallery 3 on Regent Street Knutsford has recently introduced works from the guitarist Jimi Hendrix.

The original watercolours were obtained in 1970 by the former roadie James “Tappy” Wright while in New York.

James said: “Jimi would do two things when he was travelling around.

“He would either write songs or draw and paint.”

Hendrix was also a keen artist in his youth while growing up outside Seattle in the 1950s.

The paintings have an ease which reflect the creative mind of the musical genius, and the soft backgrounds show the landscapes he would have been accustomed to during his childhood. A number of pieces from the debut collection are being displayed in Gallery 3, and the whole collection is available to buy online at gallery3.co.uk.
