A KNUTSFORD firm has been hailed as a commmunity champion after teaming up with the Guardian for a competition earlier this year.

Equilibrium Asset Management has been crowned community champion of the year in this year’s Cheshire Business Awards at Chester Racecourse.

The Knutsford-based wealth management firm was commended for its commitment to the local community and the positive impact it has on local people in need.

Equilibrium also established the Knutsford Community Hero competition with the Guardian to reward people in the area who go above and beyond in making Knutsford a better place to live.

Colin Lawson, managing partner of Equilibrium, said: “Ever since we established the firm in 1995 we’ve believed in the importance of giving back to the community.

“Instead of just the partners being in control of the charities we support, we’ve made sure all our community work backs causes in the local area which our clients and employees have an affiliation with.

“This has really helped to create a concerted effort for all our fundraising activity. As a company, we’ve committed to matching every pound our employees raised for charity.”
