MP Fiona wants referendum on EU membership
8:50am Friday 26th October 2012 in News
FIONA Bruce wants a referendum on Britain’s membership of the EU.
The Conservative MP for Holmes Chapel, Goostrey and Cranage is supporting the All- Party Parliamentary Group, which is lobbying the Government.
She is one of nearly 100 MPs who have signed up as members of the cross-party group, which is chaired by Conservative MP John Baron.
Speaking from Parliament, Fiona said: “The group is supported by MPs from across the House and of all political hues, but has one common purpose.
“The EU today is very different from what it was in 1975 and continues to change.
“Like an increasing number of people, I believe that the time has now come for the British people to be consulted about this fundamentally important point.”
