KNUTSFORD’S very own celebrity chef David Mooney marked his hometown return with a bang on Wednesday.

A VIP evening celebrated the launch of David’s new eatery, The Old Sessions House, a joint venture with business partner Paul Newman under their New Moon Pub Company brand.

The pub – formerly the Red Cow – has undergone a £250,000 refurbishment, including the installation of a state-of-the-art kitchen.

David, a former resident chef on Granada Tonight and Commis Chef to Marco Pierre White – and Paul is a veteran front-of-house marketeer and operator with more than 25 years’ experience in the hospitality, fine dining and wine industries.

They pride themselves on buying from local producers for the majority of ingredients while doing their all to boost the local economy.

David said: “It’s great to open with such a bang in Knutsford.

“We have been absolutely delighted with the warm welcome and amazing response from the local community.

“The customer booking levels and the numbers through the door have exceeded our wildest expectations.”

The New Moon Pub Company’s co-owners David and Paul are now looking forward to the launch of their third restaurant, The Hanging Gate in Weaverham, later this year.
