Bones found in wood
CRIME scene investigators were called to Knutsford after bones, an axe and a meat cleaver were unearthed in a wood.
A neighbour discovered the items wrapped in a carpet as he was digging up part of the site off Thorneyholme Drive.
He called police and a five-hour incident that involved six officers, two pathologists and several residents ensued.
But at about 8pm experts finally revealed the resident had actually found a sheep's bones.
