Amy Adams has joked that she will “hound” Christoph Waltz for James Bond-related news at the Golden Globes.

The American Hustle star is up for best actress for her performance as artist Margaret Keane in Tim Burton’s Big Eyes, alongside her Austrian co-star, who played screen husband Walter Keane. He is set to join the cast of the 24th movie, Spectre, alongside Daniel Craig, who is back as 007.

“I haven’t spoken to him about it. But I think it’s great. I think he’s such a natural fit for that genre,” she said.

She added, jokingly: “He should tell me if he’s playing the baddie. I’ll hound him at the Golden Globes, I’ll be on him all night!”

Amy said Christoph, who previously starred in Quentin Tarantino’s Inglourious Basterds and Django Unchained, would be “perfect” as a Bond villain, given what he brought to his portrayal of Walter.

“Christoph was able to bring a sense of underlying danger and menace to Walter. He had that wonderful ability to play two sides of the same coin,” she said.

“He’s a gem. He’s so much fun to work with and is a wonderful conversationalist. He’s so genuine and honest, and we had in-depth conversations. I’d met him before at different awards seasons and he’s so charming and is engaging.”

The 40-year-old actress admitted she has yet to pick her red carpet outfit for the January 11 ceremony.

“I tried on some dresses but I kind of over-indulged during the holiday, so we’ll see how they’ll get on. We’ll get there! I’ve got about a week,” she said.

And while she has been nominated, winning isn’t her priority this year, following her triumph last year.

She said: “It’s always a great thing to have your work acknowledged and I’m excited to see my pals there, and have a fun night.”

Big Eyes is in cinemas now.
