Blank Space singer Taylor gave a peek into her celebrations, sharing a selfie with four family members in a packed car. “I’m thankful for this car full of cousins. #thanxgiving,” she wrote.

She later posted a photo of the family from 2009, adding: “2009 and 2014 Happy Thanksgiving from the Swifts (and also the cousins who have other last names).”

Beyonce posted an image of a handwritten note on marbled paper.

Celebrities such as Oprah Winfrey, Kate Hudson, Neil Patrick Harris and Lea Michele also posted pictures of their celebrations on social networking sites such as Twitter and Instagram.

Chat show host Oprah uploaded a photo of her cooking the turkey while her family waited by the swimming pool. ” Girls poolside waiting on Turkey. Not ready yet. #HappyThanksgiving our house to yours,” she wrote on Instagram.

Kate Hudson paid tribute to her late grandmother, writing: “My beautiful and strong grandmother Laura Hawn was born November 27, 1914 and passed away November 27, 1994 A full cycle. So this Thanksgiving my gratitude is for Grams. She was my rock for 14 years. A true matriarch. This Thanksgiving is for u gram!!!”

How I Met Your Mother star Neil Patrick posted a photo of his partner David Burtka with their children, son Gideon and daughter Harper.

Actress Anna Faris live-tweeted her conversations with her mother – as she and husband Chris Pratt jetted off to Hawaii for the holiday.

Anna Kendrick may not have had much of a turkey dinner to enjoy after suffering a power cut during her celebrations in Maine.

The Pitch Perfect actress posted a picture on Instagram of a snowy scene and revealed she had been left without power. “No power, no heat, but we’ll eat canned cranberry sauce and be pleased as punch,” she wrote alongside the image.

Not all the celebrities could take a day off. The Madden brothers Benji and Joel, Kiss, Nick Jonas, Quvenzhane Wallis, Meghan Trainor and Idina Menzel performed at the annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York, which was led by US actor Tony Danza.
