ACOUSTIC Cafe has launched a gourmet sandwich range including a wide selection for vegans.

Ian and Michelle Fitzsimons opened as a late night coffee house and live music venue in Sankey Street earlier in the year.

But the couple wanted to settle in before introducing ‘comfort food’ style light lunches which are now available.

The range includes slow cooked beef with caramelised onions and blue cheese, slow cooked pork with apple and pear, turkey and gammon club sandwich and ‘posh cheese on toast’.

The vegan selection features vegan soft cheese with sweet roasted peppers, flatbread with avocado, sundried tomatoes and vegan sliced cheese and loose leaf salad with tomatoes, vegan cheese and pomegranate.

As well as operating as a coffee shop during the day, the idea behind Acoustic Cafe is to give people an alternative to alcohol on a night out or somewhere to chill out after a few drinks.

But it is also a licensed venue so visitors can have a glass of wine, a beer or a cocktail if they prefer.

Ian, who also runs the Auction Rooms cocktail bar, “The Cultural Quarter is vibrant and growing with a lot of really nice independent restaurants and bars in the area.

“But it has nothing to cater for those who don’t necessarily want to drink, we are aiming to fill that void.”
