SINCE opening in September 2012, it is fair to say the Old Sessions House in Knutsford has done fairly well.

Not only a popular eating spot, but the bar is often packed throughout the week - in particular at weekends - and has left owners Dave Mooney and Paul Newman thinking what they can do next.

But the pair, who now have a stable of seven properties across the north west (with the latest the Old Blind School set to open in Liverpool later this month), have decided to bring one more food service to Knutsford.

Following on from the brunch menu the company launched at its Beef and Pudding venue in Manchester last year, the team at TOSH launched its own 'Brunch and Bubbles' version on Saturday, May 11.

The food menu was varied, with a mixture of healthy options, plus the expected full English that was given a Cheshire twist and named 'Full Knutsford'.

More options included a three-egg omelette with haddock and cheese, kedgeree, steak and eggs and Belgian waffles.

But for me and the wife, it was a fairly simple choice.

I opted for the French Toast with maple glazed bacon (£6.50) which soaked up quite a bit of the excess from the night before. The four rashers of bacon were beautiful, not too dry, and the sweetness of the maple really accompanied the French toast.

The wife went for the 'Full Knutsford' (£9.95), which featured two sausages, bacon, a choice of two eggs (she went for poached), saute potatoes, mushrooms and a tomato.

Both dishes were what we have come to expect of the New Moon Pub Company, full of flavour and guaranteed to fill you up.

For drinks I had a Lemon Thyme Time Mimosa, a zesty champagne cocktail with lemon syrup, thyme and fresh lemon - hair of the dog but it definitely worked. If you do not have a taste for lemon, then there are eight more champagne cocktails to choose from, if you so wish.

The 'Brunch and Bubbles' menu is served Saturday and Sunday 10am until 1pm.
