THE Chelford community came together to ‘remember the war years’ at a recent event held at the Hall at Marthall.
Over 60 attended the recent ‘War Years Remembered’ event held by the Chelford Tenants and Residents Association. The association aims to combat social isolation in the community.
Featuring a war themed menu, and music by the 21 piece Wychcraft Big Band, the occasion received great praise from those attending.
Michael Jehan, the Chair of the Association, said: “It was a really great community event that was well supported and many attendees have asked for more.”
The event was made possible by the funding from Cheshire East Council’s War Commemoration Events Grants and Peaks and Plains Housing Trust who provided transport and venue hire.
