TRADERS from across the North West will be setting up shop at this year’s Knutsford Christmas Market.

The market, which aims to bring footfall into the town centre and kick off the festive season in style, will take place on Saturday, from 12noon to 7pm, and Sunday, 11am to 5pm.

Northwest Funfairs will be at the market with a traditional funfair on Princess Street car park, behind Waitrose, and the Indoor Market will also be open for the duration of the market.

“We have a handpicked selection of some of the best local food and drink artisans for a fantastic Christmas offering,” said Adam Keppel-Garner, town clerk.

“From macaroons to cheese, local gin to local beer and a whole host of other tasty treats there really is something for everyone.

“We also have some incredibly talented artists and crafters at the market making it the perfect place to get some unique Christmas cards, wreaths or find the perfect handmade gift.”

Visitors to the market on Saturday can be in with a chance of winning the ‘Best of the Market’ raffle. One lucky entrant will win a selection of donated prizes from each of the market traders - last year the prize was valued at over £300.

Money raised through the raffle will go to the mayor’s charity and good cause, Knutsford GROW and St John’s Wood Lunch Club.

“Traders have been extremely generous and have donated some amazing prizes – the winner will be very lucky and all entrants will have helped raise money for two extremely worthy causes,” said Knutsford Town Mayor Clr Neil Forbes.

Do not forget to visit the Guardian market stall on Saturday, where you can get your hands on a free goody bag and a copy of a Knutsford Guardian.

Whilst there, make sure to enter our free competition to win a Christmas hamper, donated by Booths supermarket in Knutsford.
