KNUTSFORD Town Council has told the Guardian it is proud to be supporting the Knutsford Promenade, due to be held on July 5.

The event, which includes two features commemorating the outbreak of World War One, has been funded with a £2,000 contribution from the Knutsford Town Council Events Committee.

Clr Tony Dean, chairman of the Events Committee, said: “The council is delighted to affirm our support to the Knutsford Promenades.

“It features a fantastic array of activity focusing on Knutsford’s rich heritage and I am sure it will be a great day for all who attend.”

The Promenade starts at 4.30pm under the Royal George archway and follows a route including Regent Street, part of Princess Street, Church Hill, King Street and the Knutsford Heritage Centre with the grand finale, featuring the Roberts Bakery Band, taking place around 6.30pm back at the Royal George archway.
