TWO Knutsford mums have just completed a sponsored Trekathon raising funds for The Eve Appeal charity which supports research into gynaecological cancers.
Melanie Townley and Vicky Rogers, took part in the event on Saturday, May 10, which consisted of a 26.2 mile trek along the course of Hadrian's wall from Carlisle to Haltwhistle.
The pair said they ‘enjoyed and fully completed’ their marathon trek in 12 hours despite torrential rain and extremely wet, muddy conditions under foot.
During the run up to the event Vicky and Mel were fortunate enough, not only to have encouragement from their family and friends, but also support from Knutsford businesses Roberta Beauty Redefined, Fit4life, Knutsford Medi Day Spa, POP Perfumery, AK Physio and Made2fit.
So far they have raised almost £1,500 with monies still to be collected and the charity itself has so far amalgamated £40k from the event, with a total being published in six weeks time.
Their Justgiving page is still open for donations by clicking here or the code VRMT50 can be texted to 70070 with your amount eg, £1, £2, etc.
