HOW does the Cheshire East Local Plan affect Knutsford?

That was the theme of last week’s public meeting staged by Knutsford Conservation and Heritage Group (KCHG).

The meeting, aimed at giving residents the opportunity to delve a little deeper into the town’s local plan, was held at St Vincent’s Church on Tatton Street on April 8.

Three key speakers were present – Bruntwood, The Crown Estate and Tatton Estate – and Peter Raynes spoke as a Cheshire East and Knutsford Town Councillor.

KCHG’s Chairman Ken Rhodes said: “All too often people leave it too late to comment on development. This is a golden opportunity for people making a difference in how they want Knutsford to look until 2030 and beyond.

“We should be in no doubt – the Local Plan will be the statutory landuse plan, once it is adopted. So now is the chance for people to comment.”

Residents have the chance to comment through CEC’s consultation ending at 5pm on April 25. The documents are online at cheshireeast.gov.uk/localplan and a copy is at Knutsford Library.
