MEN and women will be feeling the strain at Chelford Village Hall on Sunday.

The hall is the venue for the annual tug of war competition staged by Bosley Tug of War Club from 11am.

The event is being organised as part of the annual Tug of War Association fixture list, and teams from across the region and further afield will take part in weight classes for mens, womens and youth teams.

Bosley is preparing for its outdoor campaign, and will be looking to improve on the bronze medal it won at the 2013 Tug of War Association National Outdoor Tug of War Championships.

“We are looking forward to our competition this Sunday, as it is our first competition of the season, and it will give us an idea about where we are and what we need to do to be successful this year,” said team member Alan Knott.

“This will be the second time we have held an event at Chelford Village Hall, and we would like to thank the hall committee and Chelford Parish Council for their support in helping us to stage this event.”

Everyone is encouraged to drop in on the event throughout the day.
