FIREFIGHTERS cut a horse free from a horse box after a road collision in Holmes Chapel last week.
Two fire engines and a Rope Rescue Unit attended the incident, which involved a horse box and a trailer of a HGV, on Middlewich Road last Tuesday evening.
A 20 foot pole had impaled the horse box, trapping but fortunately not injuring the horse. The horse was sedated while firefighters cut the pole to free the animal using height safety equipment.
