KNUTSFORD residents turned out in force to support the 15th Rotary-organised Jog around the Moor.

The event, held by the Rotary Club of Knutsford – and supported by the Guardian – took place on Sunday, March 16.

Organisers revealed an all-time record of 335 runners took part with children from most the schools in the area, adults from various organisations including the post office, ultimate communications and lots of individuals and parents running with their children enjoying the day.

Rotarians added they were delighted with the number of spectators watching on with members ‘very impressed with the community spirit shown by such an enthusiastic family crowd’.

Rick Dallimore was on hand to give a running commentary over the tannoy, while Alan Ingram, Rotary club president, gave a vote of thanks to all jog participants and spectators.

Mathew Townsend, from Ultimate Graphics, represented the Burns Foundation and also gave his thanks to the joggers along with Kate Tuc from Francis House Children’s Hospice also thanking those taking part.

Both charities will benefit from the Knutsford Jog, with early estimates suggesting the event could raise more than the £8,000 raised in 2013.
