KNUTSFORD Town Council is canvassing opinion on plans to relocate the statue of a soldier at the Red Cross Cottage Hospital on Northwich Road to a town centre location.
The town council is hoping to part-fund the project using the Cheshire East Council War Memorial Grant Scheme and will be making an application towards the costs of the relocation.
“We are looking to gauge the thoughts of the town on relocating the statue to create a town centre War Memorial, possibly on the Little Heath,” said Clr Tony Dean.
The town council is consulting to establish the views of the public in support of the grant application. The deadline for comments is March 26.
Email Adam Keppel-Garner townclerk@knutsfordtowncouncil.gov.uk, visit knutsfordtowncouncil.gov.uk or write to Council Offices, Toft Road Knutsford.
A box for feedback will also be in the library.
